For the past 38 years, Swiss Alpine Center has hosted an annual Induction Day to warmly welcome new students to the various programs now offered in partnership with City Unity College. This year, we were thrilled to receive international students from Africa, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Georgia, Albania, and Nepal, enriching the learning experience by fostering a truly diverse community.
Induction Day provided valuable insights into the academic, social, and personal expectations for the year, ensuring students are well-prepared for a successful learning journey. Mrs Sybil Hofmann, President of International Programs had the pleasure of sharing in the excitement of the students by welcoming them and assuring them that they are going to fall in love with Greece and the vibrant environment at Alpine Center/City Unity College. The Department Head, George Diamantis, introduced the faculty, giving each member an opportunity to introduce themselves.
Team-building exercises helped students connect with their classmates and lecturers, and the day concluded with a treasure hunt that led participants to the Royalty Hotel, where practical classes are held in the restaurant and kitchen. A delicious lunch, prepared by our talented chef instructors with assistance from returning third-year students, added to the excitement.
In the afternoon, the Department Head and faculty welcomed the students’ parents, sharing key information about the upcoming academic year, including rules, regulations, internships, and more, while addressing any questions they had.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and informative day for everyone involved.
