The Virtual Open Day 2020 for Swiss Alpine Center and Cardiff Metropolitan University programs of study offered at City Unity College was successfully held on Monday 27 July in the attractive Hospitality & Tourism Management campus of Vouliagmeni, at the Athenian Riviera Hotel. This was the first virtual Open Day organized due to social distancing restrictions imposed as a result of the Coronavirus.
The event was created to showcase the hotel campus to prospective students and included a live overview of the various departments within the campus. A few students, faculty and staff were at hand to share their experiences and to give a real ‘feel’ for college life at this campus.
The event was broadcast Live through Alpine Center’s Facebook page and included welcome messages from the Academic Dean of City Unity College, the President of Swiss Alpine Center, Faculty member, the Admissions Manager, and the Operations & Financial Manager. Students representing each of the programs of study on offer, namely Hospitality & Tourism Management at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as the Culinary Arts Management spoke about the various programs and their experiences. The Rooms Division Manager of Athenian Riviera Hotel took the spectators on a tour starting from the Presidential suite on the 4th floor, showing the beautiful location of the hotel with the Saronic Gulf and beaches situated some 200 meters away on the one side, and the pine trees on the other side. The tour included a visit to a twin bedroom and a single room where students can choose to reside during the academic year; the newly designed classrooms following the latest regulations of COVID-19; the training kitchen; more classrooms; the Computer Lab; the Library; and student lounges.
